Guernsey F C, manager, Tony Vance lends his support to Goal50

Tony says, 'I am absolutely delighted to help such a fantastic cause on a personal
level.  When Nigel told me about the charity and how it materialised, I was
inspired to understand more.  It was clear that the programmes they were
providing were literally changing lives, so I was keen to help out where I
could.  Knowing that my contribution was helping provide some 15 meals every
month was so encouraging.  Through my involvement with Guernsey FC, it is
also rewarding to know that, football loving children were enjoying some GFC
memorabilia that we have sent over and thus ensuring our support reaches as
far as Africa.'
Prior to the creation of Guernsey FC, Tony was the Guernsey FA's representative
Manager from 2008 successfully managing the side to the FA National League
Systems Cup title and with that earning the prize of representing England in the
UEFA Regions Cup in Croatia. He has also previously coached Guernsey
successfully at Under 21 and Under 18 levels.

As a player, Tony was a Manchester United trialist in his youth and also had a spell
playing for Wycombe Wanderers and Enfield in his early 20's before returning to

He has represented Guernsey as a player numerous times, earning 19 'Muratti' caps
and appearing in 6 International Island Games tournaments, winning Gold, Silver
and Bronze Medals.
