Give every child a chance
The Goal50 Edu Hub will dramatically expand the charity’s early learning provision. Four classrooms will accommodate up to 120 children. The Centre will offer a world class curriculum - the Jubilee Excellence Schools Curriculum. This will ensure that the learners successfully transition to primary schools.
The Goal50 Edu Hub will be much more than just an Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD). The architect’s plans have included a kitchen and dining room, not simply to feed the children at the centre, but to operate an efficient distribution service for Mother City Kitchen that will feed the broader community.
The Covid pandemic has highlighted the importance of developmental phases in a child’s education. Gaps have been identified, and these will have significant ramifications for children in the foundation phase. Currently, in poorer communities, the ability to identify and then provide appropriate intervention for children requiring special assistance is largely absent.
Goal50 Edu Hub will offer access to the educational support needed to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for every child. Space has been created for the provision of remedial and occupational therapy services with specialist practitioners focusing on children with additional needs.
The new centre will be an opportunity for all children to be given a fair and reasonable chance to benefit from early learning, regardless of their financial means. At a cost of £500,000, this is Goal50s most ambitious project since the charity was founded. The anticipated monthly costs are approximately £11,500. The reward for hundreds of children over the coming years will be immense.
